Outstanding Axialite: Jason Saibel
2 years ago, Jason donated his bone marrow and last weekend he had the unique chance to meet the recipient. Check out the video above for more!
Last week we had our second annual Axialite Day! We started with some great presentations from the leadership team and another black tee!
We recently started getting Wandering Bear cold brew coffee delivered to the office - it definitely makes the summer heat more bearable!

What is one of your hobbies outside of work?
ho:wo music. My fiancée started a music blog about 3 years ago and I recently became a contributor. ho:wo gives us an outlet to introduce our friends and followers to new music we’re discovering, everyday. We keep it simple - maybe one or two tracks a day, but you’ll no doubt find something you like and can can share, yourself.
If you’re looking for some good music, check us out on our website, howomusic.com.
What food reminds you of your childhood?
Anything Cuban. Black beans and rice, pork, you name it. I grew up eating Cuban and it reminds me of summers I spent with my Abuelos. Now, I hit up Sophie’s when I’m homesick.
If you had to throw a themed party - what would the theme be?
Puppies and Champagne. I would just have a bunch of puppies brought in for everyone to play with and serve champagne.
What is the best gift you’ve ever given?
I gave my best friend a Harry Styles doll, last Christmas. Seeing a grown woman cry over a boy band doll made the gift all the more special.
What’s the most surprised you’ve ever been?
Definitely when I got engaged in November. My fiancée made me think we were going to a German Christmas market in Central Park and we were walking there around the reservoir (one of my favorite places in the city) he got on one knee and popped the question. It turns out there was no German Christmas market and instead he had our parents, family and friends surprise me at Penrose afterwards to celebrate. What a guy!
What would your Real Housewives tagline be?
I love the opening of the Real Housewives because it’s so ridiculous. If I were on the show, my opening line would definitely be “Sorry I’m not sorry.”
Cats or dogs?
Dogs. Specifically, bulldogs. I have a 3 year old English bulldog Kodi (also known as Kodibear). You can follow him on instagram @_kodibear
Axial Hack Day!
Yesterday, technical Axialites across all teams got together for another great Hack Day. This morning they presented some really outstanding results!

What was your best Halloween costume?
My college roommate and I used to watch Scrubs on Comedy Central every single day after class. That year I went as Turk (I had a buzz cut at the time so it worked out) and he was JD.
If you could trade places with anyone in the world, who would it be?
There’s a guy named Fergal Murray who is the head brewmaster for Guinness. He spends his days hosting “Perfect Pint” Competitions and ‘testing’ everything they produce at the Guinness Factory in Dublin. I’d take over his spot any day.
What is the best thing about your move from Boston back to NY (besides working for Axial)?
Definitely the food. I love Boston, but it’s no contest. I could eat lunch somewhere new every day around our office and always have a great meal.
What is your favorite lunch spot around HQ?
Dos Toros! I love a good quesadilla, and Dos Toros’ are the best I’ve had since I moved back to NY.
If you could leave on an international trip tomorrow, where would you go?
My sister is a teacher and has been traveling all over the world with her family for the past 5 years. She lives in Cyprus now and the view of the mountains from her apartment looks like something out of a magazine. She just had a baby girl in June so I’m definitely trying to get out there and visit as soon as I can.
What is your favorite project that you’ve completed at Axial?
I’d have to say my biggest project to date has been the Axial Valuation Tool that is going out this week. It’s a really interesting idea and had me working with people from all over the company. Seeing it go live was incredibly exciting.
